EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND STUDENT LEADERSHIP

Faculty-Led Clubs

ECLs at CGA are focused on developing young leaders who have the skills needed to succeed in the future. Our faculty-led clubs follow a subscription method and are led by a teacher, providing students with experiences that will prepare them for future careers.

Model UN Club


The CGA Model UN club helps students take the next step from their global classroom to a global forum of discussion on important world issues.

Model UN is a popular activity for those interested in learning more about how the UN operates. Hundreds of thousands of students worldwide take part every year at all educational levels. Many of today’s leaders in law, government, business and the arts – including at the UN itself – participated in Model UNs as students.

Investment Club


The Investment Club is for those students interested in working in banks or as management consultants at McKinsey or BCG.

Members are coached by our expert tutor on how to get involved in the global finance industry. Club members also learn about the global investment market through coaching from leading industry professionals. Plus, students have the unique opportunity to participate in student investment competitions using mock portfolios.

Maths Club


Enrich your maths knowledge by solving challenging and fun questions beyond the school curriculum, and prepare for internationally-recognized maths competitions!

Students can compete on a weekly basis with peers in fun problem solving games, and also receive homework support.

Students will receive the opportunity to participate and represent CGA in maths competitions/olympiads such as the International Youth Math Challenge and Mathematical Kangaroo.

Startup Founders Club


This club includes coaching on various aspects of originating an idea for a start-up, such as defining a value proposition, market sizing, product/service market fit and competitive advantage.

This is the perfect opportunity for aspiring founders to share and discuss their unique business model scalability, serviceable obtainable market, how to get started, and eventually journey to break-even and profits.

3D Game Development Club


The 3D Game Development Club allows students with an interest in gaming to further learn how to develop their own video games and apps.

As part of the club’s programme, members learn to use Unity, the world’s most popular game development platform to build fun and engaging 3D computer games. They also learn C#, one of the most powerful and useful coding languages for future careers.

Web Development Club


The Web Development Club allows students with an interest in website design and coding to further learn how to develop their own websites and if they want to publish the finished product.

Club members learn HTML, CSS, and Javascript (the three most common languages used to build sophisticated websites). Students learn to build unique websites designed for any platform (mobile, tablet, PC, laptop), pages that can run embedded games, as well as website security.

Psychology Club


This club is for students who are intrigued by Psychology and want to find out more or studying Psychology for GCSE or A Level and wish to delve deeper into one of the topics that interests them.

Students will broaden their knowledge and gain confidence in speaking through group discussions, deepen their understanding of how psychologists do research, practice public speaking, prepare for psychology essay competitions and more.

Technovation Girls


Technovation Girls will prepare students for the Technovation Challenge. Working in teams of 1 to 5, girls find a problem in their community and build a mobile app or AI project to help solve it. Along the way, they develop their collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Future Health Professionals


Future Health Professionals, modeled after HOSA, is geared towards students interested in pursuing careers in the healthcare industry.

Students will learn about pathways to become physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, paramedics, and more. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a CGA Future Health Professionals competition in March 2024.

The John Locke Essay Competition Boot Camp


This boot camp is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and strategies to excel in this highly prestigious essay competition.

During the boot camp, students will engage in discussions and activities focused on essential aspects of essay writing, including brainstorming, outlining, drafting, and revising

Student-Led Clubs

These clubs are formed by students and provide a way for them to collaborate with others globally on a subject of interest. Students can even propose and form new clubs. Here are a few student-led clubs that are currently run at CGA.

Art

For our creatively minded students who are keen to improve and share their work with the school community and beyond.

e-Sports

The CGA e-Sports team provides students an opportunity to learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, commitment, and strategic thinking. Top members of the team will be invited to represent CGA at global competitions.

Roblox

Club members learn how to build and code robots. Top members of the team will be invited to represent CGA at global competitions.

Economics Society

CES is a place where anyone interested in economics and the global marketplace can come together. Group discussions focus on basic topics as well as current affairs.

TEDx

Come and join together to organize the first CGA TEDx and contribute to all parts of the process - from topic selection to understanding the TEDx group.

Student Newspaper

Write articles and see what is happening at CGA from our students' perspectives. Learn all about the publishing process as well.

Share what sports you enjoy playing or watching and join online training sessions with your peers.

Dance

  • The Model United Nations (MUN) Tour provides students with the opportunity to participate and compete with the very best high-school debators in the world, while experiencing the facilities of prestigious universities, such as Harvard and Yale.
