Khun’s journey at Crimson Global Academy (CGA) is nothing short of inspiring. At just 16 years old, this bright student from Thailand has already made remarkable strides in both academics and extracurricular activities, demonstrating how CGA has opened doors to an extraordinary array of opportunities.
Khun’s story begins with his decision to join CGA during the global pandemic. He says, “I chose CGA because of the COVID pandemic. We had to find a place that would accept me and support me while I was online, and CGA was perfect for that.” Little did he know, this choice would lead to a transformation beyond his expectations.
What stands out most to Khun is the diversity and sense of community at CGA. “There’s definitely a lot of diversity and different perspectives within our classrooms,” he shares. “You’ll have access to all these amazing teachers, and it’s really a great opportunity to get involved with this international community.” This international exposure, coupled with small class sizes, has been a game-changer for him. “CGA’s class size is about 5 to 10 people. This has really helped me as it just makes sure that everyone really knows each other, and we’re constantly going at a pace that’s always comfortable to everyone within the classroom.”
Khun’s hard work has led to significant achievements. One of his proudest moments was being a top applicant in the Muhammad Yunus Social Fiction Design Competition, an accomplishment he attributes to the support and preparation from his teachers at CGA. “Mr. Yates prepared me for the Muhammad Yunus Social Fiction Design Competition, where I was a top applicant,” he recalls. Khun's versatility and drive were also showcased when he won the VEX Robotics Competition Nationals.
Khun has taken full advantage of the opportunities CGA offers in extracurricular activities. “I’m the co-leader of the Economics Club, a member of the Web Development Club, and the Scholar Society,” he proudly mentions. He actively collaborates with his peers to organise events and competitions, reflecting how dynamic and inclusive the CGA community can be.
Despite his busy schedule, Khun manages to find a balance between his studies and personal interests. “I’ve largely been able to maintain enough time to do studying, but at the same time, I’m not feeling burnt out,” he explains. This balance allows him to explore his interests, including his latest hobby—playing the guitar. “I’ve also recently picked up the guitar, which I really love just because it allows me to play some of my favourite songs.”
“When we first joined CGA, we didn’t have any expectations at all, but the transformation that we have seen in Khun… without CGA, we would never have known of these opportunities," says Effy, Khuns Mother. She believes CGA is the perfect place for children to become leaders, thanks to its customised teaching and constant opportunities.
Khun’s experience at CGA is a testament to the CGA's ability to nurture well-rounded, ambitious students who are ready to take on the world. He sums it up perfectly: “If you feel like you’re someone who would like to get yourself involved in different activities, different competitions, or different celebrations of ideas, CGA is international, it’s inspirational, and it’s interesting.”
