Hosting social meet-ups in an online private school setting is important for fostering a sense of belonging among students.
Looking back on the month of October, there were excellent opportunities for CGA students from around the globe to come together for vibrant meet-ups in locations such as California, Melbourne, Sydney, Tokyo, and Dubai. These gatherings were not only a chance to connect, but also an opportunity to share ideas, engage in discussions, and collaborate on activities in a more dynamic setting.
We recently held our first student meet-up and social fay on October 12 at Stanford University for US-based students. The event gave families a chance to connect with CGA's US Pathway Principal Mrs. Brittanie Bates and meet other students.
Participants toured the Stanford campus, including the bookstore and law school, and took part in icebreaker activities. Families can look forward to another meet-up in Florida in the first quarter of 2025.
CGA students in Melbourne had a great time attending the Video Games Symposium during the Melbourne International Games. Three students—Henry, Sam, and Jai—who share classes, had the opportunity to meet in person and immerse themselves in the world of gaming and innovation.
CGA students based in Sydney recently had a lively Splatter Paint session at Kaboo Studios in Bondi Junction. They enjoyed creating unique masterpieces, expressing their artistic flair in a fun and engaging atmosphere.
CGA Japan hosted a lively Halloween Party event, bringing CGA students based in Japan and their families together for a day of excitement and celebration. Students eagerly participated in festive activities such as a Halloween quiz, scavenger hunt, and paper crafts, crafting their own Frankenstein and pumpkin creations—showcasing their creativity.
The highlight of the event was the "Halloween Costume Contest," where students showcased their amazing costumes. The festivities wrapped up with a "Trick or Treat" session, where students filled their bags with lollies to take home.
Alex Cork, CGA's Admissions Officer, catches up with Jade, who is now a freshman at Princeton University. Jade shares her experiences and impressions of Princeton, including her transition from studying in a small town in New Zealand with CGA to an in-person college campus, her course load, the supportive community at Princeton, and her valuable advice for CGA students considering their college options.

Students based in Dubai recently enjoyed an exciting Glow in the Dark Badminton experience session, organised in collaboration with our partner, Teenovation. This unique event for Dubai based students combined fun and fitness, allowing students to play badminton in a vibrant, illuminated environment.
