At Crimson Global Academy (CGA), we value not only academic excellence but also the social connections among students and their families. Even though we operate as an online school, we prioritise creating opportunities for social interactions in both virtual and physical settings.
This July, various onsite activities and events took place which saw students and families meeting for the first time, interacting, and forming lasting relationships.
On June 30, CGA hosted a student meet-up in Tokyo. Families from different parts of the world, including the Anderson family from Australia, who were on holiday in Japan, came together for a day of cultural immersion and connection.
Activities included Human Bingo and creating traditional food samples in Asakusa. These events helped students and their families bond and learn more about each other's cultures.
To complement their science curriculum, CGA hosted a three-day science practical session in Auckland. Students had the chance to work in a science laboratory with a CGA teacher and their schoolmates.
These practical sessions were crucial for helping students understand the theories taught in class. For parent Matilda, these sessions were essential for her child, Kiani’s, learning and for creating new friendships. "CGA provided a great opportunity to meet other attending students, parents, teachers, and the principal," she said.
Creativity took center stage on July 2, when CGA organized an after-school pottery club session at Crockd Studios in Sydney.
This session allowed students to explore their artistic talents while building meaningful connections with their peers. Activities like these are important for helping students express themselves creatively and form bonds outside the traditional academic setting.
On July 10, CGA students in Melbourne visited the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) to explore the Pharaoh Exhibition. This exhibition, in partnership with the British Museum, showcased ancient Egyptian art and culture through more than 500 objects, including sculptures, jewelry, and papyri.
Before entering the exhibition, students participated in ice-breakers, games, and snacks, which set a relaxed atmosphere for learning and interaction.
During the school holidays, CGA students in Auckland gathered at the Crimson Education Office for an art workshop. The two-hour session, led by a local art class provider, allowed students to explore their artistic skills and create unique pieces of art.
This workshop emphasized the importance of nurturing creativity and provided a platform for students to express themselves while connecting with their peers.
Sports and teamwork were the highlights during the CGA Sports Day held in Tokyo. Students from grades two to seven participated in various games such as tail tags and the dizzy bat relay.
The event helped students bond through teamwork and sportsmanship, creating a sense of community and friendship among the participants.
CGA understands the importance of parent involvement in education and hosts monthly online sessions for parents. During these meetings, school leaders share updates, announcements, and address parents’ questions. These sessions foster a transparent and interactive environment.
Additionally, parents are encouraged to join the 'Parents of CGA' Facebook Group, an online community where current CGA parents can connect and interact with one another. This platform allows parents to share experiences, offer support, and engage with the CGA community.
At CGA, we go beyond academics to include the overall development of students through various social and creative activities. These activities not only enhance the learning experience but also contribute to the personal growth and development of each student, making CGA a unique and nurturing environment for all.
