CGA held its annual Prize Giving Ceremony to honour the academic, extracurricular, and leadership achievements of our 2024 Greenwich students. Principal Mark Phillips, along with our Greenwich teachers, celebrated a year of dedication, commitment and hard work of our students.
Students and parents enjoyed a musical performance by student Eva Poklonskaya from Russia, who studies A Level subjects, Physics, Maths, English Literature, and History, with CGA while pursuing a vibrant career in music.
The Service to School award is presented to a student who has contributed with energy and enthusiasm to a wide range of activities to support and strengthen CGA’s community.
Caitlin won this prize for her exceptional leadership over the past two years. Last year, she served as our Head Student, and this year, she took on the role of Senior Student Mentor, leading a team of student mentors in projects supporting Greenwich students.
Caitlin has significantly impacted the digital citizenship and online safety of Greenwich students. She hosted two excellent assemblies—one on effective online communication, which included a popular and engaging section on the cross-cultural understanding of emojis. In the second assembly, Caitlin guided her student mentor team to deliver an incredibly useful and engaging session on understanding and protecting oneself against online risks and scams.
CGA presents an All Rounder award to recognize students who have made excellent contributions across numerous aspects of CGA life and community life.
Khun was our Head Student this year, demonstrating effective leadership of the entire student team and achieving impactful outcomes with his Academic Team.
They hosted a series of Academic Support sessions across Greenwich and Aoraki and developed a Study Support Document with recommended resources.
Khun was awarded the All-Rounder prize for his outstanding achievements as a student leader, his highest grades in IAS subjects, and his significant contributions to the Scholars Society and Economics Club. He accomplishes all this with humor and kindness.
"I was very proud of achieving the award, and it is a great representation of the work we as Greenwich student leadership team was able to accomplish this year. The most rewarding part of my CGA experience is learning and meeting all of the amazing teachers and students from all over the world within the global classrooms, which has greatly changed my perspective on how I view the world and has encouraged me to work harder." - CGA Student Khun
CGA recognises students who have shown exceptional dedication in supporting their peers and contributing to the community. This award honours those who have made significant impacts through leadership, enthusiasm, and commitment to enhancing student life.
Nandini and Keisha, new to CGA this year, quickly became heavily involved in the Greenwich community and embraced student leadership. As House Captains, they ran their respective houses with incredible enthusiasm and managed the cultural and ECL teams.
Throughout the year, they dedicated significant time to developing and supporting student club opportunities and strengthening cross-cultural bonds through celebration assemblies.
"This award means the most to me as CGA has offered me the best opportunity to apply all of my capacities in the most productive and rewarding way possible. And so, I felt the need to give back to this amazing school, staff and students.
My most rewarding experience at CGA, is the interactions that I’ve had and the friendships that I’ve built with both the staff and the students, I never imagined that in an online school I could have met such great and genuine individuals that would mean a lot to me. Everyone is so welcoming and supporting at CGA and this has been so important for me in this new step of my school life." - CGA Student, Keisha
