Every year on October 5th, the world unites in celebration of World Teachers' Day. Here at Crimson Global Academy (CGA), this day is particularly meaningful to us as we pay tribute to the exceptional educators who play a pivotal role in shaping the minds and futures of students from diverse corners of the globe. This year, our leadership team and teachers shared what makes the teaching faculty so special, and students told us how they felt about having such incredible teachers.
Reaching out across our vibrant global community, Principal Mark Phillips was first to share his gratitude and praise for his fellow teachers. Mark describes the individuals who make-up our teaching faculty as the "heart and soul of our school and the centre of our student's academic success".
Mark expressed his thanks for our teachers, whose next-level leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal abilities underpin what makes our unique online learning environment so dynamic:
"We're incredibly fortunate to have such a talented team, without the traditional resources of physical schools ... our teaching staff are everything that makes our school great, they work hard to foster a sense of community and belonging."
Head of the US Diploma Pathway, Brittanie Bates shared Mark's sentiments. She spoke of her admiration of the teachers' tenacity and expertise, but particularly their positive influence on the wider school:
"Their dedication and passion inspire not just our students, but our entire global community, every day they show up with enthusiasm, ready to ignite curiosity and foster creativity."
Our teachers are known for going above and beyond their academic duties, providing invaluable pastoral support, guidance, and mentorship to our young people, ensuring our students thrive personally, as well as academically. Brittanie warmly added:
"Their patience, compassion, and unwavering support create safe space where students can thrive."
Christi Brasher, our Physics teacher, is endlessly enthusiastic about her role: "I love teaching the students at CGA," she declares. "They keep me young and remind me daily of how special it is to teach students from every corner of the world, with their diverse cultures and learning expectations."
Christi's passion for teaching is infectious. She sees her students not just as learners but as global citizens, each bringing their unique backgrounds and perspectives to the classroom. This rich tapestry of diversity fuels an atmosphere of curiosity and growth, making CGA an exceptional place to teach and learn.
Elise Marlow, our Head of English, paints a vivid picture of the collaborative spirit at CGA. "What's not to love?" she muses. "I work with some very talented and generous colleagues who share ideas and work together to make lessons a positive and interesting experience for students."
At CGA, education is a collective endeavor. Elise's words embody the essence of our school, where educators come together to create a dynamic and stimulating learning environment. Here, the exchange of ideas and the pursuit of knowledge thrive, making CGA a true hub of educational excellence.
"I'm honored to be a part of this wonderful teaching community at CGA," she says warmly. "What I love most about my job is the daily opportunity to empower students, watching them grow and succeed in their academic & personal journeys.", shares Marta Aliaga, our Spanish teacher.
Working at CGA is not just about imparting knowledge but also about nurturing personal growth and development for our students. Teachers like Marta create a supportive and encouraging environment that enables students to reach their full potential.
The feeling is truly mutual between teachers and students at CGA: they're just as inspired and motivated by each other!
Speaking with students this year, the passion and love for learning that their teachers exude was the number one reason why students loved learning at CGA. As student Kei from Japan explains:
"The teachers are very inspiring and passionate! They are willing to go out of their way to support students in any way they could, and their love towards their subjects is contagious."
Student Isabella, based in Australia, agrees and goes one step further, admitting that her teachers' enthusiasm fuels her determination to succeed:
"The teachers at CGA have a passion for teaching and helped me to not only reach my goal but to excel in areas I thought I would not."
CGA teachers' commitment to their students' academic success is unparalleled. Utilising their knowledge and teaching expertise, and skills at leading online classes, they enable students to excel and accelerate their studies. Students who recently completed exams reflected on the invaluable support and contribution from their teachers.
Student Yoshino from Japan emphasised his teachers crucial support in revising for his exams:
"I strongly appreciate the support from my teachers... They had a dedicated attitude and they accompanied my to run through my IGCSE examination. They provided enough questions, past papers so I could practice repeatedly, and I became stronger at each subject."
Student Andy Liao, who graduated from CGA High School this year, summarised the enormous influence his teachers had on him during his time at school, through classrooms and faculty-led clubs.
"My teachers, who helped with my learning and growth immensely, provided many opportunities that enriched and extended my learning".
In celebrating World Teachers' Day, we pay tribute to the incredible educators who bring passion, dedication, and a global perspective to our virtual classrooms. At Crimson Global Academy, we strive to foster a vibrant community of learners where teachers and students alike thrive, learn, and grow together. Happy World Teachers Day!
