Education is an essential aspect of a person's growth and development. However, it is not always easy to balance pursuing one's passion and receiving a quality education. This was the challenge faced by student, Eva Wu, a 16-year-old cellist from Auckland, New Zealand. She aspired to study at one of the best music conservatories in the US, so in order to achieve this goal, Eva joined Crimson Global Academy (CGA), to complete her IGCSE and A-Levels to preserve more time to practice and perform.
Eva's ambition for music started at a young age, and she wanted to pursue it further by attending New Zealand Youth Orchestra (NYO) program. However, attending NYO meant Eva would be missing several classes, creating many challenges for her to catch up on coursework in a traditional school setting. For Eva, this is where CGA came in. CGA recognises the importance of flexible learning schedules for students like Eva. Our teaching staff were able to accommodate her new timetable by recording all the missed lessons, which allowed Eva to catch up on her studies while attending NYO.
As an online high school, CGA is able to provide students with the opportunity to pursue their goals outside of the classroom while receiving a world-class education.
CGA's online schooling experience allows Eva to balance her passion for music with her studies. Her classes run for 4-5 hours a day, which provides her with enough time to chase her passion for music outside of class hours.
Despite studying online, Eva feels connected to her classmates through the interactive projects they work on together. The small class sizes enable teachers to check on each student and provide personalised attention, which is not possible in traditional schooling with 20-30 students.
Eva's testimonial reveals that CGA is a school that values self-discipline and motivation. Eva notes that “these are essential qualities for any student considering CGA”. The school provides exceptional communication through various platforms such as Gmail, Slack, and Cami, which make it easy for students to work with one another and interact with staff.
Eva's journey with CGA has been a success story. She was one of five cellists selected to participate in the NYO program, and has now been accepted into Oberlin Conservatory and New England Conservatory, both with significant scholarships. Along with the flexible learning environment, CGA also helped Eva to navigate the process of applying to American Universities.
Eva's story is a testament to the difference a online education can bring. CGA provides an opportunity for students to follow their dreams while continuing to receive the best in education. Meet other students just like Eva!
