We’re pleased to share that Crimson Global Academy has been officially reviewed and included in The Good Schools Guide UK—a respected, independent source trusted by families across the UK and internationally.

Unlike many school listings, this was a complete editorial review, conducted over a month, during which the Guide’s team spoke with school leadership, teachers and families.

At CGA, that included our Principal, Mark Phillips, and Brittanie Bates, Principal of the US Diploma pathway, alongside 38 CGA parents and 20 teachers.

What The Good Schools Guide Said About CGA

The review looked closely at how CGA operates. This included our academic pathways, teaching quality, student support, and community life.

It was thoughtful, in-depth, and reflected many of the qualities that matter most to families when it comes to education - structure, flexibility, strong relationships and results.

The Guide had high praise for CGA’s leadership, particularly for Principal Mark Phillips.

They noted how actively involved he is in the day-to-day life of the school. From leading assemblies and meeting regularly with parents and students, to attending student trips. His leadership was recognised as hands-on and values-driven, with a clear focus on setting high expectations and supporting his teaching team to deliver them.

They also spoke directly with families who shared their experience of the school.

Many parents described CGA as a turning point in their child’s education. For some, it was the academic stretch their child had been missing, while for others it was the structured support CGA offered, especially for students dealing with anxiety, learning differences, or burnout.

And the overall sentiment?

Tailored Support For A Wide Range Of Learners

CGA was also noted for its strong support for students with special educational needs. The review highlighted our small, ability-based class groups and reduced sensory pressures as key advantages for neurodiverse learners.

Our SENCo oversees learning support across the school and works closely with teachers and families. Parents described the approach as proactive and understanding, noting the personalised care taken to understand each student’s needs

CGA supports students with ADHD, anxiety, autism, dyslexia and a range of other needs. Adjustments for exams, teaching materials, and daily learning routines are all part of the model.

What Else The Review Highlighted

The Good Schools Guide picked up on several key elements of CGA’s model that set it apart from other online schools:

• Strong subject expertise

  The quality of teaching came through clearly. Most teachers have over a decade of experience, and many are examiners in their subjects. Lessons move at pace and include live feedback, with families consistently rating the teaching as high quality.

  The review team observed live classes across multiple subjects, noting how engaged both students and teachers were.

• An international student community that feels connected

  With students across more than 70 countries, the CGA community is truly global—but that doesn’t mean it’s disconnected. Students meet through virtual assemblies, clubs and co-curricular activities. There’s a sense of belonging, supported by tools like the CGA Friends Map, student-run groups, and regional parent networks.

  The Guide highlighted that CGA offers a far more connected and community-driven experience than is typical in many online schools.
