Made-in-New-Zealand global edtech has reached another milestone with the approval of Crimson Global Academy (CGA) as a registered online high school in the Cambridge Assessment International (CAIE) global network of education programmes.
Named as one of New Zealand’s top ten technology start-ups, CGA – a 2019-founded sister company to global edtech business Crimson Education – delivers world-class, live and real-time online learning to ambitious students. The Cambridge International curriculum will now be offered alongside Pearson Edexcel.
As a registered school, CGA is now able to offer the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and AS and A Level.
CGA is delighted to be part of the Cambridge Assessment International family of schools. Cambridge Assessment International is a major player in the international qualification market, and to be accredited enables us to broaden our subject offering to our students and take advantage of the excellent resource base Cambridge Assessment offers.
John Morris ONZM, Principal of Crimson Global Academy
Taking Cambridge International credentials was a major contributor to my own journey with the top universities Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, and Yale. I am extremely pleased to offer young people everywhere in the world access to these outstanding credentials. Crimson is uniquely positioned, given nearly a decade of success in helping our students win Top in the World and Top in Country awards, to guide students through this pathway and we are excited to broaden access to a world class curriculum through Crimson Global Academy. John Morris made the innovative move to first bring Cambridge International to New Zealand in 2000, and this is a great extension of his legacy in New Zealand education. It builds on Crimson’s enduring mission to help students achieve their potential by offering them the best education and opportunities possible. - Jamie Beaton, co-founder and CEO of Crimson Education and CGA
Following the school approval visit by our team we were delighted to confirm that Crimson Global Academy meets the requirements to register as a Cambridge International online school and is joining the school network. Our mission is to support excellence in learning in schools and in professional development, and to work in partnership with schools such as CGA to deliver the best education possible to their learners. - Kathy Parker, Cambridge Assessment Manager for NZ, Australia and the Pacific
In late 2019 in New Zealand Jamie Beaton launched Crimson Global Academy (CGA) as a global online high school offering classes in the International GCSEs, A Levels and AP curricula. Since its launch, the school has grown to employ over 70 highly qualified teachers based in 11 countries who teach over 700 students from 25 countries – with over 100 students joining in the last two months alone. CGA’s high-skill approach to online learning has already resulted in its students achieving outstanding results in their first A Level exams — a benchmark that speaks to both the calibre of CGA’s teachers and the dedication of its students.
CGA aims to increase access to high quality education for students across New Zealand, and has already given away over $600,000 in scholarships to Kiwi students.
