Advanced Placement (AP) courses are rigorous, college-level courses and assessments offered in US high schools. Administered by the College Board, they have now replaced the SAT Subject Tests for college applications. Doing well on AP courses can translate to college credit in US and Canadian universities.
AP courses are structured to be self-study material with a standardized exam offered once a year. As such many high schools might not offer the correct guidance or teaching for AP courses.
AP courses are offered all throughout high school and as such can be taken by students aged 15-18 through self-study or proper classes.
The AP courses can be taken as a part-time option along with other subjects. Students can also take a combination of levels at CGA.
All exams are externally offered during a two-week period in May and can be taken at designated centers. 3 hours paper Section 1 | Multiple Choice | 40 questions Section 2 | Free Response | 6 questions
Learn about the major concepts and tools used for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. You’ll explore statistics through discussion and activities, and you'll design surveys and experiments. You will learn how to select methods for collecting or analyzing data; describing patterns, trends, associations, and relationships in data; using probability and simulation to describe probability distributions and define uncertainty in statistical inference; and using statistical reasoning to draw appropriate conclusions and justify claims.
